Well, this evening was a particularly exciting milestone. The wheels have been turning for this year’s Summer Shindig for a little while with planning, organising, rehearsing, and lining everything up behind the scenes, but the band and the first of the singers came together in the studio for the first time this year. It wasn’t all the singers just yet, as they won’t all fit in at once, but it was enough to give us a real sense of how this year’s show is shaping up – and it’s shaping up very nicely indeed!
There’s something really exciting about hearing the songs step up a level when voices join the band. And the verdict from the room? Everything sounded great!
What really stood out was the buzz. The singers had an absolutely fantastic time, clearly enjoying the experience from the first note. There were smiles mid‑song, laughter between songs, and an unmistakable energy when everyone realises that things are clicking.
For the band, it was one of those rehearsals that reminds you why this show works. Hearing the songs with singers, even at this stage, sharpens focus and raises the bar. This rehearsal wasn’t about perfection. It was about momentum, confidence, and connection. More singers will be joining us soon, and rehearsals will continue to tighten, and the show will keep evolving as everything comes together.
Every Summer Shindig has its own character; its own moments that define it. This year is sure to offer up some fantastic moments, and we can’t wait! If you’ve loved previous years, you’re going to love what’s coming. The songs are sounding huge, the performers are already bringing the energy, and this year’s show is going to once again be special.
